How much does delivery cost?

We send all of our items via Royal Mail tracked 48 as this gives the best protection to you and us.

Standard postage is £4.95 to UK addresses with free postage on orders over £50.

If an item you have ordered is out of stock we will contact you as soon as possible and offer a revised delivery date or a refund.

Can I amend my online order?
Unfortunately once you have placed your order online we are unable to amend or cancel it.
Where is my parcel?

Once your order has been processed you will receive and automated email containing your tracking link.

Orders placed Monday to Friday are usually processed within 48 hours and will be delivered to you within 5 working days via Royal Mail Tracked48 Parcels postage service. 

Is your paint shop open to the public? 

No, the paint shop is closed to the public. It is open for courses and special open days only.

Do you have an in-person gift shop or attend any markets or is it just online? 

The shop is online only, however we do have an in-person gift shop that is available for students to visit at the end of their course or at an open day.

Can you sign things that I have bought from you, like books and posters? 

We do not offer this service via our online store as our orders are packaged and dispatched off site. You can request a signature from Joby if you purchase a product when you attend a course or an event with Joby, subject to his availability.

Can I buy your limited edition prints elsewhere? 

No, limited edition prints are only available online while stock lasts.

Courses

Can I amend my course booking?

Under exceptional circumstances we can accept requests to amend your booking for a course, but this is subject to availability and may incur an admin fee or may mean that you only recieve a partial refund. Please refer to our terms and conditions then contact us to discuss this futher.

Do you offer one-to-one training or apprenticeships?

No, not at present.

Joby’s courses are a great way to see if you have the necesssary skills to become a signwriter – check out our courses page to find out more.

Do you have a waiting list for courses?

Spaces occasionally become available on courses but they can often be quite last minute so if you are going to join the list please bear this in mind.

Where is the nearest train station/bus stop/airport to your course? 

Nearest train station is Maidenhead station.

Nearest bus stop is in White Waltham Village.

Nearest airport is Heathrow.

Do you teach in other places, not just England?

At the moment just in England but Joby Carter would consider travelling for the right teaching opportunity.

What is a Letterheads meet up? 

‘Letterheads’ are a group of signwriters of all abilities and experience who meet up to share knowledge and inspiration.

Events take place around the UK and the world.

Do you offer finance on courses? 

We don’t currently offer finance on courses, although we are reviewing this. Sign up to our neswletter to stay in the loop with updates.

How many people are in the courses with me? 

There are up to 15 students on all our courses except the gilding course which has space for 5 students.

Virtual courses have a maximum capacity of 100 and are held via Zoom.

Can I learn to signwrite if I am left handed?

Yes! We have had a number of left handed students in the past.

While some aspects are not as easy as being right handed, it’s definitely possible and Joby has experience teaching left handed people so you are in safe hands.

Working with Joby

Can I commission you to create something bespoke?

Yes, but before you get in touch it is useful to have a few things in mind such as the size of the commission, the font styles, the colour palette and your budget.

Joby has worked with many high end clients including Jools Holland, the Brit Awards and English National Opera.

I need help restoring something, can Joby help? 

Depending on your restoration project it might be something Joby can help with. Please get in touch.

Will you come and do a talk at my place of work/party/university/exhibitions?

Potentially, it depends on the location, whether you are able to pay a fee/cover travel expenses and Joby’s diary availability.

In the past Joby has held talks at Birmingham University, Reading University, Amersham WI and others.

Do you work with film, television, production and photoshoots?

Yes, Joby has experience working in the film, television, production and photoshoot industries.
